Passed away peacefully in the presence of his loving children, on April 14, 2022 at 90 years of age. Beloved husband of Addie, with whom he celebrated 65 years of marriage. Loving father of Judy Renaud (Dennis) and Keith (Birgit). Dear Punka of Lisa Brown (David), Amy Renaud, Kurt Baia, Amanda Baia and Joshua Brown. Son of the late John and Mary Baia. Survived by brother John, predeceased by siblings George, Mary, and Jenny.
Al was actively involved in his community, his church, and he was a coach for minor baseball and hockey. He was an avid basketball player in his youth. Al was a volunteer with St. Vincent de Paul and Mission Services. He served as Dad on 2nd COR (Christ in Others Retreat) in Windsor. Co-founder of Faith Unlimited, a youth spiritual singing group composed of young adults 16 – 21. Al was dedicated to working and serving young people.
If you so desire, donations to the Windsor & Es County Cancer Centre Foundation, St. Vincent de Paul Society or Hospice of Windsor would be appreciated.
In keeping with Al’s charitable heart, non-perishable food donations will be collected during visitation at the funeral home for the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
Visitation will be held Monday, April 18, 2022 from 3-5 & 7-9 p.m., prayers 4:30 p.m. at Families First, 3260 Dougall Ave., South Windsor, 519-969-5841.
On Tuesday, April 19, 2022, friends are invited to join the family after 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, River Canard followed by the Funeral Mass at10:30 a.m.
