Peacefully at the Kingston General Hospital on Wednesday April 6, 2022 at the age of 82. Beloved husband of 49 years to Sheila Hodgson. Proud father of Derek (Sylvie), Sherri (Scott) and John. Cherished grandfather of Jason, Tyler, Richard, Matthew, Michael, Jeff, J.R., and Shelby. Great grandfather of Janessa, Markas and Josiane. Dear brother of Jack (Gloria). Predeceased by 1 sister Carol Thorburn. Will be lovingly remembered by his step-sister Joy O’Neill. The family will receive friends at the Tompkins Funeral Home on Tuesday April 19th from 12:00 until time of service in our chapel at 2:00 pm. Interment St. John’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations made to the Gananoque Legion Br# 92 or to the St. John’s Restoration Fund would be appreciated by the family.

I loved Tom. He was my mentor, friend, teacher and guide when I was a young man learning about the world. I am who I am today because of his lessons of compassion, duty, and acceptance. Other may know Tom differently, but this was the man I knew, the one I cared for and the one i miss.
