Goldie’s Obituary
ROACHE, Goldie Pauline (Williams) – 88 of Lockeport passed away peacefully at Liverpool Hospital on Sunday, January 2, 2022. Absent from her body present with her Lord.
She was the daughter of Roy and Edna (Enslow) Williams. She was a faithful and loving wife to the love of her life Manus.
Goldie was a life-long member of Lockeport Pentecostal Church where she taught Sunday School, and was an active member of the Women’s Ministry. She was a member of Camp Evangeline which she looked forward to every summer. She was well known as the ‘Avon Lady’ for many years. She enjoyed knitting, quilting, sewing, photography, journaling, and reading, especially her Bible.
She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved being together with them at any time especially on birthdays, holidays, and Sunday dinners which her grandchildren fondly remember.
Goldie was a kind generous woman of God and often responded to the needs of others. She is remembered for her great hugs and infectious smile.
She enjoyed going on the Seniors bus trips with her friends. A memorable time for Goldie was when she went with her Women’s Church Group on a missions trip to Eskasoni.
Goldie is survived by her sons St.Clair (Lily Ann), and Dale; her grandchildren Ryan ( Shannon), Jillian (Dan), and Gavin (Rayana); great-grandchildren Breanna, Joel-Ryan, Jayden, Wesley, and Owen; brother Clayton (Jessie), and sister-in-law Jean (Denver) as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Manus, mother and father Roy and Edna Williams, brothers St.Clair (Goldie) and Denver, sisters Edna and Daphnee.
The family would like to thank the VON nurses, doctors and nurses at Queens General Hospital, Lockeport First Responders, EHS Paramedics, and especially her Home Care Workers Sherry, Melissa, and Susan for their exceptional care and devotion to our mother.
Goldie’s faith kept her going and she truly believed in the power of prayer. Her favourite saying was “Leave those things with the Lord”
She is now made over anew in the presence of her Lord and Saviour, celebrating with her family and friends who have gone on before.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Lockeport. A celebration of her life will be held in the late spring. Donations in her memory can be made to Camp Evangeline, Debert NS, the Gideon Bible Society, or a charity of your choice. On-line condolences may be left for the family at www.huskilson.net
