April 3, 2022
It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved youngest brother, Steven Bruce Ward. He passed away at the age of 56 in Calgary at the Rockyview General Hospital on March 20th, 2022. The youngest of nine children, he was born at Moosomin Hospital in 1965 to Dennis and Clara Ward, and grew up in McAuley, Manitoba.
Steven received his education at both McAuley and Virden schools. He had many jobs in his short life, but the one he loved the most was as a Custodian at the McAuley school. Steven always said he hated the kids, but in fact he truly loved them, and he was a fantastic uncle to his many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by our parents, Dennis and Clara. He leaves to mourn his eight siblings: Arthur and Patricia of Calgary, Alberta; Marie and Don of Watrous, Saskatchewan; Richard and Diane of Virden, Manitoba; Peggy and Charlie of McAuley, Manitoba; Barry of Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia; Charles and Flo of Portage, Manitoba; Keith of Calgary, Alberta; and Susan and Bob of Killarney, Manitoba.
Cremation took place at Country Hills Crematorium in Calgary. Interment will be at McAuley Cemetery on July 16th, 2022.
