It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Donald Joseph Coughlan of Smith’s Crossing, formerly of Blackville, passed away on March 29, 2022 with his wife, Rhonda Macdonald Coughlan.
Born in Blackville, he was the son of the late Loman and Grace (Kennedy) Coughlan. A caring friend and family member, Donald found as much happiness surrounded by those he loved as he did in quiet moments spent exploring the woods he called home. He was retired from CN, a member of the Anglican Church and an avid Bowler.
He is survived by his daughter, Alisa Grace Bracken (Ryan) of Barrie Ontario; his son Craig Coughlan (Rachael) of Toronto; his sisters, Lyona Underhill (Late Gerald) of Blackville, Rita MacDonald (late Elmer) of Blackville and June Sullivan Cameron of Gray Rapids; his brothers, Leroy Coughlan (Doris) of Blackville, Robert Coughlan (Late Lynda) of Moncton, John Coughlan (Treva) of Gray Rapids, Ronald Coughlan (Kathy) of Blackville, David Coughlan (Mary) of Stanley, Hal Coughlan (Wendy) of Gray Rapids and Boyd Coughlan (Barbara) of Gray Rapids and his grandchildren, Anna, Ben, Luke and Nate all of Ontario, Ashlee Taylor-Mallon (Patrick) of Dubai, Sabian MacDonald (Krysta) of Napan, Zack Mercier of Calgary, Morgan Mercier of Halifax, Mira and Sloan of Miramichi, one great granddaughter Scarlett of Calgary.
Donald Joseph Coughlan is resting at Davidson’s Funeral Home, 597 Old King George Hwy with visitation on Monday, April 4 from 2-4 & 7-9. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday at 2pm at Davidson’s Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Charlene Maguire MacKnight.
In his memory, donations to Alzheimer’s Society of New Brunswick or New Brunswick Heart and Stroke would be appreciated by the family.
