Obituary of Norma Christyn “Chris” Earl
Earl: Norma Christyn (Chris)
Chris passed away peacefully with family by her side March 28, 2022 at Carveth Care Centre in her 91st year. She is survived by her daughters Cathie Kench (Philip) and Susan Beckstead. A devoted grandmother, known as ‘Black Gram’ to her grandchildren; Brandy Beckstead (Jayson Shipman), Mark Kench (Melissa), Melanie Beckstead, Adrienne Lynch (Chris), Peter Kench (Sara), Allison Kench (Dan Sloan), Ryan Beckstead, Michael Kench (Katy), Elizabeth Kench (Jenna), Justine Medcroft (Cairo). A loving great-grandmother to Finley and Foster Lanigan; Cedar Jeffries; Mackenzie Watson; Chloe, Mae, Clara and Fern Kench; Gabriella, Kingsley, Nixon and Scarlett Kench; Aubrey, Paisley and Cora Beckstead; Piper and, Maddox Lynch; Brody, Rylee and Emmett Sloan; Leo and Henry Kench.
Pre-deceased by her parents Cecil McCauley and Pearl McCauley (Gray), her brothers Charles (Gus) McCauley and Gordon McCauley. She is survived by her eldest brother Joseph (Duffy) McCauley.
Affectionately known as Gram to one and all. She was not just your average grandmother-she was in integral part in the daily lives of her grandchildren, and was relied upon to help run two busy households. The grandchildren were spoiled with her amazing homemade treats, and in her memory, they will continue to be made for generations to come. We will forever cherish her incredibly dry sense of humour, and the way she would laugh both with, and at us. Chris will be greatly missed by her entire family.
There will be no visitation according to her wishes. A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made in Chris’s name to the Gananoque & District Humane Society.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Norma
