In Loving Memory of Jeannine Marguerite Lanktree (nee Forcier)
Born December 6, 1927, Sturgeon Falls, ON and passed away peacefully with family at her bedside on March 25, 2022, in Elliot Lake, at the age of 94.
Beloved wife of J. E. (Bob) Lanktree predeceased. Cherished stepmother of Richard (Debbie), Jayne White (Dale), John (predeceased) (Cathy) and Mark (Polly). Beloved Grandma to Caitlin (Jack), Dylan, Marguerite, Danielle (James), Brendan (Laura) Bryce, Lacey (Cameron) and Logan and Great Grandson Milo. Dear daughter of Ernest and Celina (nee Perron) Forcier both predeceased. Loving sister of Gerard, Fernande and Georgette all predeceased. Sadly missed by nieces and nephews.
Jeannine worked her entire career at CIBC. She was an avid curler and met her future husband Bob at the Garson Curling Club. Married to Bob for 42 years, they enjoyed many winters in Florida, travelled the world, and enjoyed gathering with family and friends.
Summers included vacation time at cottages with children and grandchildren, relaxing on the beach, playing cards and rummoli and enjoying a glass of wine. She was a familiar sight on the streets of Garson for many years taking her daily walk.
Her love of family gatherings, and Christmas in particular, created many happy memories for her family.
Jeannine was the beloved matriarch of the Garson Chapter of the Lanktree Spouses Club, and she will be greatly missed by the other members.
Family would like to thank all friends and family who have reached out at this difficult time as well as the staff at St. Joseph’s General Hospital and Hillside Park in Elliot Lake for their care and compassion.
Cremation with interment at the St. John’s cemetery in Garson. Service for immediate family will be planned for a future date. Arrangements entrusted to the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home.
