Winnifred Wyn Grace Greer September 28 1942 March 24 2022

Heaven has a new angel and we were lucky enough to call her mom.
On Thursday, March 24th, Wyn Greer of High River, Alberta passed away peacefully at the age of 79 years.
Wyn is survived by her loving family. Daughters, Carla (Todd) Kratchmer of Lethbridge, Kendra (Murray) Wegener of High River, and Leslie (Don) Wutzke of Edmonton. She was known as Grandma Wyn to her ten grandchildren, Shelly, Sherri, Mitchell, Dan, Brett, Sean, Karly, Erin, Courtney, Josh; and her 16 great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her brother Arch (Edith), sister Shirley, sister Marj (Bill) and brother Clark. Wyn was beloved by numerous other relatives and many dear friends.
Wyn was predeceased by her loving husband of 57 years Gerry, daughter Kim, and her two daughters, Adriane and Alison.
Wyn was born in Shelburne, N.S. where she met the love of her life, Gerry. While living in Nova Scotia Wyn and Gerry were blessed with the birth of two daughters, Kim and Carla. Their journey out west made a brief stop in Hamilton, ON where Kendra was born. But the prairies were calling and in 1967 they made the move to Alberta where Leslie was born. Wyn eventually became a true Albertan but always thought of Nova Scotia as home.
Wyn was a lifelong learner. Despite not finishing high school and being a young mother of four, she made the brave decision to go back to school. She completed her high school diploma and from there she continued on to Secretarial School where she developed the skills for her future career. She held various local administrative positions before her and Gerry made the decision to start their own company, Greer Contracting. Together Wyn and Gerry built Greer Contracting into a successful business with a focus on community support.
Wyn was an avid golfer and crafter. She leaves behind many creations for the family to cherish in the form of rug hookings, stain-glass, and needle point. She also enjoyed knitting and crocheting outfits and blankets for all her beloved grand and great grandchildren.
Her final journey home started three months ago at the Foothills Country Hospice. She was given exemplary care by the wonderful staff and volunteers there and considered the hospice her final home.
The family is planning a celebration of life for a later date. It would bring Wyn’s family great comfort for anyone who is able to, to make a donation in Wyn’s name to the Foothills Country Hospice (Box 274 Okotoks AB T1S 1A5), www.countryhospice.org/support-us/
