Obituary of Frances Clark
CLARK: Frances M. J. –
A former resident of R.R. # 2 Highgate, Frances Clark passed away peacefully at Riverview Gardens in Chatham with family at her side on Friday, March 25, 2022 in her 94th year.
Born in Orford Township, Frances was the daughter of the late Ross and Mabel (Simpson) Gladstone.
Beloved wife of 62 years to the late Lyle Clark (2013).
Loving mother of Lavern Clark (Joan), Karen Clark-Thorne (late Gary, 2018), James Clark (Janet) and Marlene Giroux.
Proud grandmother of Erica Clark (Jeff Squire), Shawn Clark (Marianna Horn), Ross Clark (Shawna), Sarah McCann (Wayne), Christopher Thorne (Julie), Aaron Thorne, Matthew Thorne (Alison), Alison Clark (Dereck Kozak), Darren Clark (Deanna Martin) and Chatner DeNuke (Kim).
Great-grandmother to 18 great-grandchildren.
Survived by sisters-in-law Mildred Hills and Verna Clark.
Predeceased by great-grandson Caleb, great-granddaughter Charlotte and numerous in-laws.
Frances was very involved with the former Highgate United Church, received a lifetime membership with the United Church Women and was a member of Erie Street United Church. She enjoyed participating in numerous community events and organizations.
Reading, watching sports, canning and quilting were her passions. Frances lived independently enjoying time outside with her flower and vegetable gardens until the age of 91.
A Private Family service will be held with an interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Ridgetown.
Donations made in memory of Frances to the Erie Street United Church or Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation would be appreciated.
