Rose Mae Kahnapace
September 16, 1945 – March 25, 2022
With sadness the family announce the passing of Rose Mae Kahnapace (nee Oochoo), loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, and auntie was called home to the Creator on March 25, 2022 surrounded by the love of her family. Rose Mae is predeceased by her parents John Oochoo and Helen Oochoo (Pelletier); siblings Frances Crow-Buffalo (nee Oochoo), James Oochoo, Alice Ochoo, Joseph Oochoo, Ivan Oochoo, Ivy Oochoo, two lost in infancy; children Alvin, Joseph (Nooty-Boy) and Sheila Kahnapace; adopted daughters Inez Papaquash (nee Kahnapace) grandson John Matonie (Mac). Rose Mae is survived by her loving children Donna (Ron) Bird, Denita (Stan) Bird, Lavienda (Vince), Geddes, Karen, Cynthia (Sheldon) Smoke-Matonie; sister inlaw Ina Kahnapace; adopted children Kiley (Jordi) Seven Waters, Kalista Papequash, Tanya Oochoo, Gwen Oochoo. 19 grandchildren, 52 great grand children, 4 great-great grandchildren and other extended family too numerous to mention.
The family would like to thank the staff of the General Hospital and All Nations Healing Hospital of Fort Qu’appelle, Chief Todd Peigan, Pasqua First Nation and Conley Funeral Home.
Wake will be held Sunday, March 27, 2022 at 4 pm in the Chief Ben Paskwa Hall, Pasqua First Nation. Funeral Service will be held Monday March 28, 2022 at 11 am in the same location. Interment in Ashams Beach Cemetery, Pasqua First Nation.
