Rodney’s Obituary
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we, the family of the late Rodney Francis, announce his passing on Wednesday, March 23rd, 2022 at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre in Port aux Basques, NL at the age of 66 years. Born in West Point, NL, Rodney was the son of the late Albert and Florence (nee MacDonald). He was also predeceased by his siblings Willis, Mary (Regional) and brothers in-law; William, Ross, Donald, Ruben, Roy, Wilfred and Cliff Spicer, also his parents in-law; Henry and Cassie Spicer.
Rodney leaves behind with many fond and precious memories, his loving wife of 46 years; Minnie, also leaving to mourn are his children; Rowena (Tim Walker) of Eastern Passage, NS, Roger (Colette) Francis of Corner Brook, NL, grandchildren; Marshall, Brody, Noah and Luke.
Rodney also leaves behind his brothers and sisters; Jane (Terry) Fancy of Enfield NS, Bill (Joanne) Francis, Pauline (Morley) Pardy, Eric (Louise) Francis all of Port aux Basques, and Mylita Francis (Bob) of Lower Sackville, NS, brothers and sisters in-law; Winston (Darlene) Spicer of Truro, NS, Maud (John) Dobbin, Roland (Leah) Spicer, Pearce, Barry (Elizabeth) Spicer all of Rose Blanche, NL, Scott (Darlene) Spicer of Glace Bay, NS, Julie Francis of Enfield, NS, special friends; Kenny Bobbett and “Kenny’s Woman” (Cluda), as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 27th from 1-4 p.m. at East Haven Funeral Home Inc, 57 Grand Bay Road, Port aux Basques. A small service and Interment will follow at Hillside Haven Cemetery, Isle aux Morts Road. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Francis Family.
