DROOG, John Gerrard – Peacefully and surrounded by family at Strathcona Long Term Care on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 in his 86th year. Beloved husband of Rose Droog (née Hoffman) for 59 years. Loving father of Catherine (Paul) Manion, Rosanne (Terry) Gordner, and Ken (Nancy) Droog. Cherished grandfather of Holly (Neil), Jeremy (Candice), Simon (Sara), Katlyn (Simon), Michael (Katelyn), Kim, and John and great-grandfather of Weston, Everleigh, Marshall, Tatum, Alex, Hailey, Hannah and Madison. Dear brother of Jack Droog, Cora Hill, Adrian (Sharon) Droog, Ted (Shirley) Droog, Janus (Joan) Droog, Arnold (Arita) Droog, Peter (Debbie) Droog; and brother-in-law of Christine Droog, Frank Todd, Edward Hoffman, Henry Hoffman, Catherine (Lloyd) Rachar, and Debbie Hoffman. Survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by siblings: Nick Droog, Ann (Peter) Lucas, Truus Hoffman, and Mary Todd; sisters-in-law Marie Droog, and Mary Gunn; and brother-in-law Michael Hoffman.
The family would like to thank the staff at Strathcona Long Term Care for their dedication and compassion.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary of the Purification Roman Catholic Church at a later date. Details will be announced. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of John are asked to consider the Alzheimer Society of Canada or St. Mary of the Purification Roman Catholic Church. Arrangements entrusted to the England Funeral Home, Mount Forest.
