Jean-Paul Emile Fortin, 66 of Fruitvale, BC passed away Tuesday March 8, 2022 at Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital in Trail, BC due to health complications.
Jean-Paul was born September 14, 1955 in Amos, Quebec to his parents Paul Emile Fortin and Judith MacLeod.
In 1974, Jean-Paul met Ginette, where he took her on a first date to Bob’s Grill. They shared french fries, gravy, and a glass of cream soda. Since that day they have been inseparable. He married the love of his life on December 7, 1979 and they were happily married for 42 years.
He loved spending time with all his grandchildren, working on cars, playing his guitar, and going to church on Sundays.
Jean-Paul is predeceased by his mother Judith, father Paul Emile, brother Jack and sister Denise. He is survived by his wife Ginette, son JP (Amanda), daughter Cindy, grandkids Arlin, Angelina, Abby, Hudson, Lucyian and Christopher, brothers Gilles (Jackie), Serge (Carole), sisters Tammy (Hal), Marlise, and many nieces and nephews.
The service will be held on Saturday, April 2nd, 2022 at 1:30 pm at Fruitvale Christian Fellowship, 1878 Columbia Gardens Road, Fruitvale, BC.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation in Jean-Paul’s name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Canadian Diabetes Foundation would be appreciated.
