Alice’s Obituary
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we, the family of the late Alice Ford (nee Osmond), announce her peaceful passing with her loving daughter and niece by her side on Sunday, March 20th, 2022 at her residence at the Mountain Hope Manor in Port aux Basques, NL at the age of 94 years. Alice was the daughter for the late Charles and Alice Osmond (nee Musseau). She was also predeceased by her father and mother-in-law; Charles and Maude Ford (nee Battiste), husband; Wilson Ford, infant brother; Charles Osmond, brothers; William Osmond, infant twin sister; Dorothy Osmond, sisters; Francis (James) Seaward, Olive (Abraham) Taylor, brother-in-law; Frederick Mills, Jack Gilliam and Gerald Ford.
Alice leaves behind with many fond and precious memories her loving daughter; Jane (Walter) Jeans of Mackenzie, BC, grandchildren; Jason (Stacey) Jeans of Prince George, BC, Janice (David) Noel of Airdrie, AB, Jamie Jeans of Prince George, BC, great-grandchildren; Spencer Jeans, Noah Jeans both of Prince George, BC, Melissa Noel, Ashley Wall, Nicholas Noel all of Airdrie, AB.
Alice also leaves behind her sisters; Viola Mills and Gertie Gilliam, sister-in-law; Hannah Ford all of Port aux Basques, NL, plus a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Alice was a devoted and active member of the Salvation Army for her lifetime. She also was a very talented seamstress who could sew and make everything and anything from quilts to wedding dresses.
The family would like to send a special thank you to Lorna and the staff at the Mountain Hope Manor in Port aux Basques for all the compassion and support given to us during this difficult time. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
In keeping with Alice’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, March 23rd from 7-9 p.m. at East Haven Funeral Home Inc., 57 Grand Bay Road, Port aux Basques. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 24th at 2 p.m. from the Salvation Army Citadel, Grand Bay officiated by David and Beverly Harvey. inurnment to follow at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Trans Canada Highway, NL. At the request of the family, a mask is strongly recommended. Flowers are graciously accepted or donations in Alice’s memory can be made to the Salvation Army Citadel.
