Obituary
It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Bjarni Allen Skanderberg at the age of 87 years old. Allen passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s in Thunder Bay, Ontario with his family by his side.
Allen will be lovingly remembered by Eunice, his wife of over 60 years. His son Chris (Debbie), daughters Tracey (John), Shelly (Ken) and grandchildren Cole, Evan, Adriaan, Marsha, Toni, Mallory, Jonathon, Matt and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Bjarni and Elin, brothers Karl and Jon, sisters Sigrun and Violet.
Allen was born in Grass River, Manitoba on February 28, 1935. Allen spent his early years farming before moving to Sioux Lookout, Ontario where he worked for Buchanan Forest Products. Upon retirement, Allen moved back to Plumas, Manitoba and years later moved to Thunder Bay, Ontario.
One of the happiest moments was his time spent with his fur baby, Abby who brought so much joy to his life. Many memories were made fishing, hunting, gambling and he always loved a great game of canasta playing with family and friends.
Allen had some great travel adventures to Florida, Las Vegas and to the Black Hills. Allen also fulfilled one of his lifelong dreams travelling to Iceland to see where his mom was born and found many long lost family members who he enjoyed getting to know.
Our family is grateful for all the kind words, food, flowers and phone calls that we’ve received during this difficult time.

As per Allen’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service at this time. Burial will take place at a later date in Plumas, Manitoba.
