Heather Joy Yerxa 19572022

Heather Joy Yerxa
1957-2022
Another Angel has received her wings today March 4,
2022. A wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister,
friend…Heather Joy Yerxa has now begun the journey in the next
chapter of her life. Leaving behind her devoted
husband…Daniel Yerxa…her precious son Trevor Daniel Yerxa…his
wife Lacey…three wonderful grandchildren…Katie, Carter and Hudson
whom she adored and loved with all her heart. Her family and
her home meant more to her than anything else.
Heather was the daughter of the late Walter and
Lorna Shepard. Joy is also survived by her sister Nancy
Brewer (Lee)…two brothers Larry Shepard (Sharon)…David Shepard
(Karen)…a sister in law Geraldine Pike (Leslie
deceased)…brother in law Beverly Yerxa (Anna Mae)…brother in law
Leo Corey (Gail deceased). She is also survived by her
mother in law Violet Yerxa and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews
and cousins. She was predeceased by an infant sister
Connie.
Joy had a long and rewarding career with Bell
Aliant for almost thirty two years. A few of her colleagues
became very close and formed a little group called the GNOs who kept
in close contact and enjoyed each other’s company throughout the
years. This group was very devoted to each other and shared
many interesting events and times out
together.
Joy was a member of the Moncton Wesleyan Church
and believed in our Lord Jesus Christ and put her faith and trust in
his hands. Thanks to Pastor David Way for his visits to our
home offering prayers of healing and trust in what God can
do. These kind words of healing helped to ease our
pain.
Joy enjoyed and had a great knack creating
several needle point works of art and also enjoyed reading, e-mailing,
FaceTiming and messaging on her computer…connecting and chatting
with school classmates, family, friends new and old…just keeping in
touch with everyone both near and far away. Joy looked
forward to travelling during the cold weather months…especially
Florida whether it was Disney or sun packed beaches, Mexico, Jamaica,
Las Vegas, The Grand Canyon, The
Dominican Republic or Cuba…the
Brisas Guardalavca which felt like our second home.
Cruising the Caribbean was also a great
highlight. On different occasions sharing these
memories with two of our best travelling buddies…Grant and Brenda
Losier or Doug and Sharon Fagan brought the travelling experience and
memories to a whole new level. No shoes, No Shirt, No
Problem.
Her most favourite things to do were to listen
to music and attend any concert she could whether it was
locally here in Moncton, Bangor, Prince Edward Island, Halifax or
Fredericton. Joy was indeed in her happy place and enjoyed
the performances immensely.

“You’ve gotta dance like there’s
nobody watching,
Love like
you’ll never be hurt,
Sing like
there’s nobody listening,
and Live
like it’s heaven on earth.”

Honouring
Joy’s own wishes there will be No Visitation. A Private
Memorial Service will be
held.

For those
who wish donations to the charity of the donor’s choice would be
appreciated. Also in her memory doing a random act of
kindness or giving to someone in need would be something that would
honour the way that she lived her life and her kind
heart.

Arrangements are in the care of the Albert
