Obituary for
Olga Predy
On February 26, 2022 Olga Predy (nee Habiak) of Smoky Lake, Alberta passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 96 years.
Olga had a zest for life that was apparent in everything she did. She loved curling, gardening, volunteering, singing in the church and community choirs, and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Olga will be missed by her son, Warren (Grace); daughter, Mel (Mike); grandchildren, Larissa (Dave), Jessica (Ken), Tasha (Paul), Simon and Sean; great-grandchildren, Riley, Alex, Lincoln and Robin; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Olga was predeceased by her husband, George; parents, Katerina and Wasyl Habiak; and siblings, Ann, Kay, Pete, and Patsy.
Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 6, 2022 at Park Memorial, 9709 – 111 Avenue, Edmonton followed by a visitation Sunday, March 6 at Park Memorial Smoky Lake, 311 White Earth Street, Smoky Lake, Alberta from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m.
Funeral Rite Monday, March 7 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Ascension Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 3 White Earth Street, Smoky Lake. Reverend Father Benny Ambrosie officiating with interment to follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Olga’s honour to Holy Ascension Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Bar-V-Nook Manor or charity of one’s choice.
The family would like to express their deep gratitude to the staff and residents of Bar- V- Nook Manor for their continued love and support. Thank you, also, to the staff of the George McDougall Memorial Hospital for making Olga’s last weeks as comfortable as possible.
