JARGIELLO, James “Jim”
1951 – 2022
JARGIELLO, James (Jim) John
With great sorrow and broken hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved brother Jim, on February 25, 2022, at the age of 70, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer at Blanche River Health – Kirkland Lake Site.
James was born in Hamilton, Ontario on March 24, 1951, and the family moved to Kirkland Lake in 1953. He was predeceased by his loving parents John (Mike) Peter Jargiello (2003) and Margaret Edith Jargiello (Cright) (2022), his grandparents Irene and Alfred Cright; and many aunts and uncles.
Jim will be lovingly remembered by his siblings: Jerry, John (Helen), Michael; Debra (Stan) Bernardo of Sault Ste. Marie and Suzanne (Blucher) Jargiello; and his nieces and nephews Teena Kukkee of Thunder Bay, ON, Gasper (Kristy) Bernardo Jr. of Barrie, ON, Michael, Jeffrey (Michelle) and Maxx Cabrera of Ecuador, Sarah and Aleesha Jargiello of Barrie, ON, Amber Kalliomaki, Trista (Ty) Wiley of Hayward, WI; great-nephews and nieces: Emerson, Pyatt, Logan, Sophia, Grayson, Damion, Landon, Jayden, Kali, Eden, Emma, Emily, Jonathan Zane, and Sofia Teresa; his uncle and aunts: Clayton (Lorraine) Cright of Sault Ste. Marie, ON; Faye Cright of Caledonia, Louise Cright of British Columbia and Bob Miller of Las Vegas, NV, as well many cousins and good friends and especially “Newfie”.
Jim led a very quiet life. He was always the life of the party and could be relied on for a great laugh. In his twenties, he lived in Williams Lake, British Columbia where he worked as a millwright. He returned to Kirkland Lake in the late 70’s/early 80s and he worked as a welder in many mines around the Timmins area and would work various other jobs in Northern Ontario. In his early 60s, Jim returned to school attending Northern College in the Welding Engineering Technician program. Jim liked to fish and would often go with his buddies.
From the bottom of our hearts, we wish to thank all the PSWs and VONs for their nurturing care of Jimmy at home, his Palliative Nurse Practitioner, Tara Laframboise, and Home and Community Care Support Services – North East Coordinator, Amanda Charbonneau, and health care team. Also, Health Sciences North Oncology, Timmins and General Hospital, and the Blanche River Health, Kirkland Site staff.
A funeral service will be held this coming summer once the restrictions are eased and it is safe to gather to celebrate Jim’s life.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Jim’s memory can be made to VON or the Canadian Cancer Society.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of JARGIELLO James Jim 1951 2022..
