Catania, Spiridione “Speedy”
Passed away peacefully at his home in Oro-Medonte after a brief stint with cancer on Friday February 4th, 2022, at the age of 90. He was the beloved husband of Judith (Judy) Catania for 62 years. Loving father of Larry Catania – predeceased, Ken Catania (Alice) and Lisa Catania (Kevin). Proud grandfather of Jessica Miller ( Matt), Vanessa Catania (Dustin), Miranda Catania (Michael) and Krista Catania (Mitchell). Also proud great grandfather to Cody and Triton Miller, Myles and Mason Finney, and Parker and Murphy Websdale. Loving son of the late Emanuel and Emanuela Catania. Dear brother to Mary Grech (Johnny), Alfred Catania (Martha) and predeceased by Gerry, Tony, Carmel and Tereasa. He will be lovingly remembered by all his nieces, nephews, family and friends. A special thank you to Dr. Aaron Barnett and his staff for the loving care they gave Speedy. Speedy enjoyed his woodworking, making birdhouses among other things that he loved to sell all the markets on Saturday mornings as “Speedys Woodworking”. Visitation will be held at the Simcoe Funeral Home, 38 James Street E Orillia on Saturday February 26th, 2022, from 11 a.m. until time of funeral service in the chapel at 1:00 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Sick Kid’s Hospital.
