Lawrence Gonnella
The family announces with sorrow his passing in Sturgeon Falls on Wednesday, February23rd, 2022 with his wife by his side.
Beloved husband of Marie (Barbe) Gonnella for 62 years,
Loving father of Joel of Antigua, Angela Fiset (Marty) of New Liskeard, Tina (Ken Bailey) of Squamish.
Adored Nonzie of Carlyle and Hayden Fiset, Makenna and Devon Bailey, Kianna and Danya Gonnella and their mom Naydene.
Son of Guiseppe and Angelina Gonnella both predeceased, brother of Norma Sherbanuk (Saul predeceased), Gino and Mary both predeceased, brother-in-law of Albert (Merk) Barbe (Liz predeceased), Jeanine and Juergen Kuik both predeceased, fondly remembered by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Larry was born and raised in Creighton Mine. After 42 years with Inco, he retired to enjoy life on beautiful Lake Nipissing. The family was fortunate to have lived in Guatemala and Indonesia, during two overseas assignments with Inco. He loved fishing, golf and especially dancing. He was an active Knight of Columbus for 68 years, founding member of the Knights of Columbus council 11854, Our Lady of Sorrows Church, and was a 4th degree member of Albanel council 859.
Thank you to the wonderful caring staff of Au Chateau, especially the PSWs and RPNs on 3rd floor who treated Larry with love, respect and kindness.
Donations to Near North Palliative Care or the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated
