Arthur “Art”‘s Obituary
WESTVILLE – Arthur Wilson “Art” Dunn, 96, Westville, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, February 23, 2022, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Sylvester on April 11, 1925, he was a son of the late Daniel Edward and Annie Elda (Daigle) Dunn. Art had been employed with the Canadian National Railway for 31 years as a heavy equipment mechanic, retiring in June 1975. Following retirement, Art was employed with his late nephew, Marshall Dunn, D & G Construction for several years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and an accomplished wood worker. Art was a “master” fly tyer and enjoyed teaching the craft to others, especially, young people. He was an adherent of Bethel Baptist Church, Westville and possessed strong faith in his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. He will be dearly missed by those he loved.
Surviving are his wife, Joan; daughters, Darlene Dunn, New Glasgow; Rosanne (Steve) Campbell, Bridgetown; son, David Dunn, Surrey, B.C.; daughter-in-law, Diane Dunn, MacTier, Ont.; step-daughters, Anne (Justin) Jordan, Mississauga, Ont.; Faith (Mike) Dunham, London, Ont.; grandchildren, Brenda, Zelina, Michael, Stephen, Josh, Lea and Sarah; many great-grandchildren; seven great, great grandchildren; step-grandchildren, Debbie, Becky, Steve, Emily, Josh, Abby and Joanna; several step-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Jean; son, Rev. Peter Dunn; sisters, Olive MacDonald, Iona Armstrong, Mary MacPherson and Betty Grosvold; brothers, Herb, Rad, Reg and Alex.
A private celebration of Art’s life will be held in Bethel Baptist Church, Westville with Pastor Ryan King officiating. Spring burial will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens.
Art’s family wish to thank the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care Unit, doctors and nurses for the excellent care he received.
