McCHARLES, Sally Mary Dorothy
After a long illness, Sally McCharles died peacefully at her home in Powassan, on Monday, February 21, 2022. She was 76 years old. Sally (Kemp) was predeceaed by her husband Reg McCharles (1943-1995). She was the beloved mother of Ian McCharles and Cori Hughes (Tim), all of Powassan, Dena Moffatt (Jason) of Callander and Jenny-Lyn McCharles (Chris McMann) of Magnetawan; and “like a mother” to Cindy Ainslie (John) of Restoule. She will be lovingly remembered by nine grandchildren, Brandon, Tyler, Dylan, Bailey (Chelsey), Aiden, Hunter, Ashley, Taylor, Gregory and Cindy’s children Bryan and Michelle; and one great-grandchild Jace. Sally was the dear sister of Doug Lewis of Toronto, Ian Lewis (Gail) of Manitouwadge, and the late George Lewis (Hazel of Toronto) and David Kemp. Primarily a homemaker for the majority of her life, Sally entered the business world in her 50s and opened a very successful flower shop, “Ribbons & Roses” in Powassan. Following that she volunteered as the co-ordinator for the Powassan Food Bank for many years. Cremation has taken place. A memorial gathering for Sally will be held Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 70 Lindquist Line, Powassan, from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. A graveside service will take place in spring.
