Young-Hwan Kim Sunday February 20th 2022

It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Young-Hwan “Paula” Kim, aged 72, on February 20, 2022, due to complications from Alzheimer’s.
Young-Hwan was born in Korea where she lived for many years with her family. She married her husband, Yoon-Bae Kim, in 1972 and moved to Canada in 1974 to start a new adventure together. They worked tirelessly to provide a good life for their children whom she adored.
She enjoyed gardening, and would play endless rounds of golf. She also very much appreciated a good cup of coffee, and delicious food. Above all, she loved to be surrounded by family and friends and was always laughing and having a great time – and could often be found singing karaoke. She had a fierce inner strength with which she faced many obstacles with humour and positivity. Young-Hwan is remembered for her huge heart and generosity. Even while in the nursing home with Alzheimer’s she used to try to help the other residents with their meals or help tidy up.
She is survived by her daughter, Connie Kim; sisters, Koo-Ja Paik, Young-Ja Cho, Young-Hee Yoo, Young-Mee Huh; brother, Joong-Hyung Cho; numerous nieces and nephews; and an abundance of extended family and friends. Preceding her in death are her husband, Yoon-Bae Kim; and son, Andrew Kim.
To know her was to love her. We will miss her more than words can say.
Visitation will be held at Marshall Funeral Home, 10366 Yonge St., Richmond Hill on Saturday February 26, 2022 from 1:00pm to 2:00pm with service beginning at 2:00pm. Masks and vaccines are mandatory. A live stream will also be available.
