Obituary
Jeanette ‘Jeanne’ Victoria (Teleglow) Picklyk, 71, passed away Monday morning, February 14,
2022 after her battle with pancreatic cancer. She is predeceased by her parents Clarence &
Barbara Teleglow and brother Daniel Teleglow. She is survived by her loving husband of 51
years David Philip, her four sons Marshall (Lisa) Picklyk, Lowell (Staci) Picklyk, Oriole (Patricia)
Phillips and David (Heather) Picklyk, her 7 grandchildren Tasia, Katiana, Camille, Charlotte, Mya,
Katherine and Damon and brother Greg Teleglow.
Jeanne was born on May 23, 1950, in Winnipeg, Manitoba the oldest of three children living on
her family farm until she attended bible school at Living Word Bible Institute in 1968. It was
there she met the man who would become the love of her life, Dave Picklyk. They married on
September 12, 1970, in Swan River, Manitoba. God, and their deep love for each other shone
through their life and family.
Jeanne and Dave lived in Manitoba, Alberta, and then settled in BC. She began her career as a
Personal Care Aide in which she worked for over 30 years. Being so passionate about her care, she
and Dave converted their home to minister and provide a safe home for seniors. After
government closures Jeanne explored other work, eventually being recruited as a transport
security officer for Guarda at Kelowna International Airport. Through her 15-year career with
Guarda she was often promoted and ended up overseeing the security operations of multiple
regional airports across BC.
Jeanne was known as an incredibly caring and gentle person who brought peace to all her
interactions and relationships with those she cared for and mentored. She served relentlessly,
giving of herself often without counting the personal cost. She had a special love for flowers
and plants and even the hardest flowers to care for flourished under her hand. She was an
amazing cook and her big smile and gentle nature will always be remembered by her family and
loved ones.
