After 3 years of battling cancer, it is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of our dear son, Jason of St. Thomas, On., formally of Sarnia. He is survived by his loving parents, James and Dianne Colter of Sarnia, much loved father of his children, Austin (Jordyn), Dalaina, and Ryder Colter of St. Thomas, On. And the mother of his children Alexandra McKeigan of St. Thomas. Survived by his sister, Melody Carroll and her family of South Carolina. Loved by his aunt and uncle Dave and Colleen Fyfe, his cousins, Tiffany (Matt) Smith, their children, Madison, Maci, and Lexxi Smith of Nashville, TN and Caleigh (Jon) and Penelope Hillier of Corunna, On. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Herbert (1977) and Jean Pyke (2020).
Born in Sarnia, ON., he attended school at Lansdowne Public School, St. Clair High School, Lambton College, Spring Arbor College, and St. Clair Community College in Michigan. Jason’s employment took him to several golf courses, both in Ontario and Michigan and Carber. His latest employer was CP Rail, as a conductor. He was an avid golfer and loved golfing with his father and 2 sons. He enjoyed watching many other sports including the Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Lions.
Cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Thursday, February 24, 2022, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Please sign-up to attend: signup.com/go/oEinQoc . A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to St. Joseph’s Hospice or a charity of your choice (cheques only at the funeral home please).
God saw you getting tired,
When a cure was not to be,
So he put his arms around you

And saw you slip away.
Although we LOVED you dearly
