ENGLISH – Leola Blanche (nee: Brintnell)
Passed away peacefully at Ross Memorial Hospital, Lindsay, Ontario, February 13, 2022 in her 95th year. Leola was predeceased by her husband of 28 years, William (Bill) English. She was the only child of Elwyn and Olive Brintnell (predeceased). After spending her childhood in the Woodville area and graduating High School in 1945, she entered training as a nurse at Ross Memorial Hospital, Lindsay. Graduating in 1948 she continued to advance in her career until her retirement in 1969 after having worked on and completed revising V.O.N. records in the National Office. An alarming cancer report in 1967 did not deter Leola’s enthusiasm for life and activities. Her involvement was not limited to, the Cannington Trinity United Church, a member of the Horticultural Society, a Co-Chair for the Fire Relief Committee when a fire disaster hit Cannington, and the community as a whole. Her step family was a main priority, taking part in every occasion, be it school, sports, birthdays, weddings, babies, etc. She was step Mother of Ted (predeceased) (Chris), Reg, Cathy Wall (predeceased) (Harold), is fondly remembered by Step Daughters-In-Law Linda Watson and Doris English, was dear Grandma of Todd English (Tracey), Troy English, Tamara (Aaron) Misner and Scott English (Alana), and Great Grandma of Jaeden English (Alex), Taylor-Rhae Simmons (Jesse), Mickaela English, Addison, Teagan, Quinton, Kinsley Misner and Mathew English. Thanks to all care givers at Lakeland Village and Extendicare Kawartha Lakes. A private family burial will be held with a Memorial Service to follow in the summer of 2022.
