Victoria Jeanette Mae Chase 1929 2022

Victoria Jeanette Mae Chase – 93, Truro, passed
away peacefully on Friday evening, February 11, 2022, at Wynn Park
Villa, Truro. Born in Coverdale, Victoria County, New Brunswick, she
was a daughter of the late George and Jeanette (Patriquin)
Mellish.
Victoria loved her Lord and served Him in many ways through
her long-time membership at Truro Heights United Baptist Church. In
earlier years, she worked as a printer at Muir’s Printing
Ltd. She was a wonderful mother who worked hard all of her life to
ensure that her family was always well looked after and cared for.
Victoria loved music and she enjoyed singing and playing the guitar.
She also enjoyed gardening, reading, pickling and preserving and was
an excellent cook.
Victoria is survived by her children, Patti (Gary) Grant,
Truro Heights; Judy (Bob) Pratt, Truro Heights; Bruce (Kathleen)
Taylor, Cambridge, Ontario; grandchildren, Julie Enslow (Garry
Diceman), Angus, Ontario; Jeff (Kate) Grant, Truro Heights; Danny
(Lisa) Pratt, Bible Hill; Tammy (Perry) Spence, Springhill; Barbara
Storey, Moncton, New Brunswick; Robert (Sally) Pratt, Onslow Mountain;
Steven (Jennie) Taylor, Grimsby, Ontario; Jessica (Neil) Linihan,
Cambridge, Ontario; several great grandchildren and great-great
children; siblings, James (Anne) Mellish, Moncton, New Brunswick;
Charles “Charlie” (Vicki) Mellish, Welland, Ontario; Robert
“Bob” (Janice) Mellish, Halifax; Herman (Arloene) Mellish,
Washington State; close family friends, Linda (Hansen) Dodge, Salmon
River; Val McNutt, Bridgewater; several nieces and
nephews.
Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her first
husband, Everett Ira Taylor; second husband, William Muir Chase; son,
Richard Taylor; siblings, George Mellish, Al Mellish, Helen (Edward)
Durette.
We would like to thank Dr. Trevor Locke for all of his care
over the years as well as the excellent care she received at Townsview
Estates. Although only at Wynn Park Villa for a very short time, we
want to thank you for your care and compassion.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall –
Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where
Victoria’s family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m.,
Tuesday, February 15, 2022. (Please use the
main doors of the funeral home, wear a mask and provide photo
identification and proof of vaccination; thank you for your
co-operation.)
Funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday, February 16,
2022, at Truro Heights United Baptist Church, 343 Truro Heights Road,
Truro Heights, Reverend Connie Stewart
officiating. (Maximum of 70 people are
permitted to attend the funeral service; please pre-register by
calling the funeral home at 902-893-3177. Proof of double vaccination
must be presented before entry to the church and masks must be worn;
thank you for your co-operation.) Webcasting
of the funeral service will be available at 1:55 p.m., Wednesday,
February 16, 2022 and will remain on this site for some time. Spring
interment in Truro Heights Cemetery. If so desired, donations in
Victoria’s memory to Truro Heights United Baptist Church are
