“The soul remembers what the mind forgets.”
Sara Warren passed away in the early hours of February 7, 2022, peacefully, at home, surrounded by love. Born in Chapleau, Sara was proud of being a Registered Nurse, and cared deeply for the patients she worked with at Sudbury Algoma over her career in mental health. She taught her children, Warren and Matthew (Heiti), how to love unconditionally, and shared 17 truly wonderful years with her life partner, Pat (Byrne). She hated to be the center of attention, but friends and family who knew her, also knew her fierce, unswerving love. Her rambles with Pat and their beloved dog Wyn across North America allowed her to pursue a mindful life, and she delighted in retreats to Pumpkin Hollow and Gampo Abbey, as she studied meditation and became a certified practitioner of Therapeutic Touch. For Sara, heaven on earth was Santa Fe, home to her hero, Georgia O’Keeffe, and there she was in awe of the spectacular colours, especially yellow, of the desert mesas. Wherever she traveled, Sara liked to seek out and walk the winding paths of labyrinths, and she has now arrived at the center of a vaster one: the end of a journey with purpose.
She is predeceased by her parents, Vada and Eldon, and her siblings Don, Doug, Morley, and Gloria.
Sara wrote poetry and gratitudes almost daily, and one of her final pieces ends with the line: “My life has been SUPERB.” She left us too soon, but in her very happiest moments. Arrangements entrusted to the Lougheed Funeral Homes.
