Obituary
It is with vast sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Dustin Lee Houle (Dusty), 41, of Sandy Bay First Nation, Manitoba. Dusty passed away on January 26th, 2022, surrounded by family.
Dusty was born to Laura Mousseau and Roger Whitford on December 15th, 1980 in Portage La Prairie. He was raised in Sandy Bay First Nation.
Dusty was a loving partner to Crystal Malcolm, who survives him. In addition to his wife Dusty leaves to mourn his children Evan, Whitney and Sebastian (Savannah); His parents Laura and Roger; His stepfather Jim; His siblings Lacy, Georgia (Allen), Mederise, Jamie (Brooke), Gerald “Partner” (Marilyn), Roger Jr. , Janie and Kayla ; His grandchildren Grayson and Jaidyce ; Numerous nieces and nephews, Numerous cousin; Numerous aunties and uncles. Dusty was predeceased by his maternal grandparents Jim and Florence Houle ; His paternal granny Florna Whitford ; His godparents Bennett and Lina Isfeld ; His brother Cody Grayson Mousseau ; His cousins Allan Jr. Houle, Jared Red Cloud, David Laurent Myerion “Blub” , Michael Grayson Houle, Sarah Candace Beaulieu “Candy” and Philip Jr. Houle ; His uncles Jack Whitford and Glen Whitford; His Father In Law Clarence “ Shorty” Roy Malcolm.
Dusty was a kind and gentle man with a heart of gold, which he often used to help others anytime he saw an opportunity to lend a helping hand. He had a knack for repairing anything mechanical with no instructions needed, he could take anything apart and find the problem then proceeded to fix it and put it right back together. Dusty had a love for fishing; he would leave before the sun was up to pull the nets and often brought Sebastian or Crystal along. He had a love for bikes, riding bikes, fixing bikes and making new ones from old scrap parts. He loved to cook; he could make a meal from anything with the help of any seasoning he had to work with.
Dusty was a family man that always aimed to make anyone feel welcome in his life, whether it was offering to help someone, offering advice or just being a support to a loved one. Dusty easily made an impact on anyone who met him; he will always be remembered for his smile that could light up a room and for his laugh that was contagious.
