CORMIER Douglas Alwin 2022

Douglas Alwin Cormier, September 17, 1957 to February 4, 2022
Son of Amos & Winnifred Cormier. Husband to Ann Cormier. Loving father to Jessica, Beau & Mitchell, father-in-law to Matthew and Ryan . Brother to Jack & Suzanne, Denis & Sheron, Vic & Shirley, Ron & Joan and Mark. Uncle to many nephews and nieces
Doug was born and raised in Toronto, where he found a love of hockey. His parents nurtured and encouraged him to follow his dreams and see where this love of the game would take him. Doug played on many teams over the years, and at many different levels. From Junior B to the old timers league in Dunnville, Doug’s love and passion for the game led to many coaching positions, and many lives touched where he passed along his skills and life lessons to all who knew him.
Doug’s life was always full of adventure. His career that started on Lake Erie on the drilling rigs, led him to many off shore drilling jobs in countries, such as Brazil, Nigeria and South Korea. His hard work, and sacrifices allowed him to come home to a loving family and many friends, and always with new stories to tell.
Doug cherished time with family and with friends and always said family comes first. He was the type of person that would drop everything to help anyone he came across. Doug’s legacy will live on through his children, family and friends, and anyone that knew him. His lessons to his children, forever remembered, his love and memory will never be forgotten.
If anyone wishes to make any donations, we would ask that you make them in the name of the Dunnville Hospital & Healthcare Foundation (dhhf.ca)/ Heart & Stroke Foundation (heartandstroke.ca) . Celebration of Life will be announced for a later date this summer. Online condolences jwhartfuneralhome.com
