Ivan Edward Steeves
1929-2022

Ivan Edward Steeves, 92, of Hopewell
Hill passed away peacefully on February 6th, 2022 at Forest Dale
Home.

Ivan was born in Hillsborough on April
4th, 1929 the son of the late Solomon and Lydia (Steeves)
Steeves.

Ivan spent 12 years serving his
country in the mIlitary. He married and had a son, then moved his
family to Chilliwack BC and while he was there he worked for the BC
School Board. He later moved back to his hometown in New Brunswick and
met and married Doris Stevens who was widowed, and they made their
home in Hopewell Hill. He worked for the Department of Transportation.
Together they attended the United Pentecostal Church faithfully. He
loved his little home in Hopewell Hill and spent numerous hours
tinkering in his garage. He loved four-wheeling and took pride in
keeping his property looking pristine. He appreciated seeing all
nature had to offer and loved the outdoors and hunting. He enjoyed
having yard sales, he loved to set up in his garage and wait for the
opportunity to talk to his customers that came by looking for that
perfect item and ready to make a deal. Ivan will be remembered for his
great smile and his grin. Ivan and Doris both felt blessed to be
independent and stay in their own home even in their nineties, it was
just in the past few months that they both moved to Forest Dale Home,
just a couple doors from each other which gave them comfort being able
to see each other everyday. We know Ivan is now at peace and with his
Lord and Saviour.
“Trust in the Lord with all your
heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all
you do, and he will show you which path to take.” Proverbs
3:5-6

He will be deeply missed by his
beloved wife, Doris; daughter-in-law, Brenda Steeves of Langley, BC;
his grandchildren, Christopher Steeves (Jen) of Surry, BC and Michael
Steeves of Edmonton, AB and his great granddaughter, Cecily; his
step-sons, Rev. Don MacDougall of Moncton, Robert Stevens (Jean) of
Oshawa, Garry Stevens (Marion) of Hillsborough; step-daughters, Sandra
Harris of Riverview, Pamela Hope (Craig) of Hillsborough and Paula
Wilson of Hillsborough. He will also be missed by his nieces, Marilyn,
Marie and Marlene; several step-grandchildren , several step-great
grandchildren and by all his church family.

Besides his parents he was predeceased
by his son, Wray Steeves, sisters, Marjorie Merritt and Marie
Steeves.

A funeral service will be held at a
later date at the Albert County Funeral Home. Interment will be held
in the Hopewell Cemetery, Hopewell Hill in the
spring.
