Obituary
Our hearts were saddened with the passing of our dear mom, our champion and friend, the light of our lives. Elizabeth (Lizzie) Brace of Chance Cove, passed peacefully away at Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital in Clarenville on Thursday, February 3rd, 2022, at the age of 82, surrounded by her loving family who were the joy of her life.
Predeceased by her loving husband, Garland Brace; parents, George and Bertha Collett; brothers and sisters, Edgar, Leslie, Mable and Olive.
Leaving to mourn and celebrate her life are children, Terry (Tanya) and Teanne; grandsons, Dillon McGrath and Colin Brace; sister, Linda Hillier (Clayton); and a large circle of nieces/nephews, cousins and friends.
For 37 years she ran her business in the community alongside her husband Garland. Together they held a steadfast faith in God and their support in the Salvation Army Church. Her years of membership in the Salvation Army Home League were near and dear to her heart.
Resting at the Salvation Army, Chance Cove with visitation on Wednesday, February 9, 12:00-5:00 pm and 7:00-9:00 pm; Thursday, February 10, 9:00-11:00 am.
In order to maintain social distancing and to follow the public health advisory of Covid-19, Alert Level 3, this will be a walk through only, one household bubble at a time, and proof of vaccination is required. Everyone is asked to sign the contact-tracing sheet upon entering the building and masks are required.
A service to celebrate Elizabeth’s life will be held on Thursday, February 10 at 2:00 pm and will be by invitation only. Masks are mandatory and vaccine passport with photo ID will be required. Interment to follow at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Chance Cove.
As an expression of sympathy, donations in Elizabeth’s memory may be made to the Salvation Army Memorial Fund, Chance Cove where she loved to worship and was a faithful soldier with a lifetime of service.
