Obituary of Joan Evelyn Van Alstyne
VAN ALSTYNE, Joan Evelyn (nee Harrison) – passed away peacefully at University Hospital in her 93rd year. Loving mother to Don (Pat 2020) Van Alstyne, Diane (Larry) Marcaccio, Brent (Sandy) Van Alstyne, Leslie Agnew and Glenn Van Alstyne. Survived by her grandchildren Jenny, Courtney, Danny, Kyle, Alyssa, Bryan, Scott, Lindsay and great-grandchildren Sutter, Sterling, Harlow and Colby. Joan is predeceased by husband Paul (2003), brother Bob and sisters Gwen and Dorothy. Born and raised in Montreal, Joan and family lived in Winnipeg before they moved back to Ontario in 1967. Joan enjoyed golf, bridge, book club and theatre, as well as sewing and knitting for her grandchildren. Cremation has taken place. A family Celebration of Life will take place at a later date in Montreal. The family would like to thank the 6th and 10th floor doctors and nurses at UH for their care and compassion.
