1941-2022
Raymond Gerald “Ray” Leslie
– age 80, of Kentville, passed away on Sunday, January 30,
2022 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, surrounded by his loving
family. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Gerald and Ruth
(Keizer) Leslie.
Ray started
his professional career in Real Estate before becoming the Manager of
Kings County Regional Housing Authority and retiring as the Warden of
Kings County.
Ray will be
deeply missed by his wife, of 59 years, Ann Sheridan (Lowe); sons,
Kevin (Natalie Misner) of Canaan, Darryl of Kentville and Stephen
(Debbie Barkhouse-Leslie) of Port Williams; daughter, Cheryl (Bob)
Ansems, of Steam Mill; sister, Betty Nieforth (Tom MacFarlane); nine
grandchildren and five
great-grandchildren.
In addition
to his parents, he was predeceased by his identical twin brother, Ross
Leslie and brother-in-law, Laurie
Nieforth.
The family
would like to express sincere thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff
of VRH-Medical A, especially nurse Stacey, who cared for Ray with such
kindness and compassion.
Cremation
has taken place. Due to the COVID-19 gathering restrictions, a private
family funeral service will be held. Reverend Greg McMullin
officiating. For those unable to attend, a video webcast of the
service will be available at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 19, 2022.
Interment will take place in Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill.
In
accordance with the Nova Scotia Proof of Full Vaccination Policy,
proof of full vaccination will be required to attend visitations,
services and receptions held in or by the White Family Funeral
Home.Donations in memory may be made to a local food bank of
your choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family
