Peacefully on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Fiddick’s Nursing Home in Petrolia, RONALD GORDON MORAN passed away at the age of 90. He was the devoted father to his five children and their partners: Lesley Moran of Guelph, Stephen Moran of Mississauga, Kathy Moran and her husband Robert Hodge of Markham, Peter Moran and his wife Karoline of Palm Harbor Florida, and Elizabeth Moran of Guelph. He was keenly engaged in the lives of his grandchildren: Daniel, Matthew and Jane Brownlee, Clayton and Garrett Moran, and Katarina and Marco Moran. Ronald was predeceased by his wife, Mary Moran, his parents, Frederick and Jeanette Moran and his four siblings: William, Jean, June and Helen, and their partners.
Our father was born in Mooretown, moved to Sarnia after marrying and there he raised his family. He was a long term resident of Sarnia, actively contributing his time to the Sarnia Minor Baseball Association. He worked at, and then retired from, Suncor Sarnia Refinery.
Memorial donations made in memory of our father can be made to the Sarnia-Lambton Branch Transportation of the Canadian Red Cross, an organization he supported throughout his retirement.
Cremation has taken place and a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (1465 Lecaron Ave, Sarnia) on Friday, March 4, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. The interment will follow at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery, Sarnia.
Due to Covid19 restrictions, seating is limited to only 75 people. Those wishing to attend the service will be required to wear a mask, social distance and register at signup.com/go/OVeBAtr
