Catherine Ann MacIsaac 1941 2022

In Loving Memory of Catherine Ann
MacIsaac
It is with deepest sadness that we announce the passing of
Catherine Ann MacIsaac in the Palliative Care Unit at St.
Martha’s Regional Hospital in Antigonish on January 28,
2022.
A caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, she
was born on the Little Harbour Road in Pictou County on October 20,
1941. Cathy spent most of her youth on the Foxbrook Road in Westville,
until she moved to Antigonish in the early sixties and met the love of
her life. She was waitressing at The Gael Restaurant when she met this
young local fella who used to leave her sheet metal screws for a
tip.
She devoted most of her life to raising her family but became
widely known along the way as “Cathy the Cook” at The
Children’s Place Day Care & Learning Center and the
bookkeeper, who ran a pretty tight ship, at Zinck’s
Transfer.
Her children and their families were the pride and joy of her
life; she loved them dearly and they were her usual topic of
conversation, but it was always Ernie that she would come back to; he
was her everything.
She loved the home that Ernie built for her, her puppies, her
Cadillac, and Elvis. She was proud of the garden property she had
groomed over her entire life; she appreciated the magnificence and
beauty of each individual flower, shrub, and tree she
planted.
Cathy was predeceased by her husband Ernest and her brothers
Peter and Michael.
She is survived by her children Shane (Jackie), Lower South
River; Kevin (Diane), Metcalfe, Ontario; Angela Schneider (Chip),
Spokane, Washington; Jason (Emily), Utopia, New Brunswick;
grandchildren, Holly, Meghan, Emily, and Katie; and her puppies, Pooh
& Missy.
A special thanks to Dr. Steve Gallant, Dr. Kathleen
MacEachen, and all the ER, ICU, & The Palliative Care Unit
nurses at St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, who helped make
her last days comfortable and peaceful.
A private family visitation and funeral will be held due to
COVID-19 restrictions. Burial in St. Ninian Cemetery in the
spring. Family flowers only please.
In Memoriam, donations to the Canadian
Wildlife Federation appreciated.
