Passed peacefully away surrounded by her family who loved her beyond measure, Jeanette Mallay of St. John’s, formerly of Marystown at the age of 61.
Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are her husband, Leon of 40 years; son, Stephen (Krista) of Paradise; 2 beautiful granddaughters, Anna and Drew; sisters, Mary White (Steve) of Marystown, Maureen Connolly of Marystown, Sheila Brake (Wayne) of Marystown, Raymonda Foote (Gerald) of Marystown, and Maura Moulton (Hughie) of Winterland; brothers, Phil Baker (Jane) of Marystown, and Gus Baker (Marilyn) of Marystown; sisters-in-law, Margaret Ann Cleal (Allan) of Marystown, and Rossarri Dimmer (Allen) of Marystown; brothers-in-law, Fred Mallay (Mary) of Marystown, and Terry Mallay (Audrey) of Marystown; lifelong friends, Gerard and Edwina Baker of Marystown; plus a large number of family and friends.
Jeanette was predeceased by her parents, Raymond and Gladys Baker; parents-in-law, James and Bride Mallay; brother, Joe Baker; sister, Ce-Ann Murley; brother-in-law, Dan Connolly; and nephews, Darren Connolly, and Jonathan Dimmer.
With brave wings, she flies
The Mallay Family will be accepting visitors at Wiseman’s Funeral Homes, Marystown on Sunday, January 30th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm.
Due to Alert Level 4, this will be a walk through visitation. Only one household bubble can visit at a time. Also please note that masks must be worn in the funeral home at all times and everyone will have to present their VaxPass to enter the building and due to covid-19 regulations, no food is permitted in the funeral home.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Marystown on Monday at a time to be announced.
In Jeanette’s memory donations may be made to The Children’s Wish Foundation, Burin Peninsula Chapter or A Charity of One’s Choice.
