Passed peacefully away at Shirley’s Haven, Catalina on January 27, 2022, Jabez Johnson, formerly of Little Catalina.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories a large number of nieces, nephews their families and his friends.
Predeceased by his loving wife Josie; parents, Jabez and Charolette; brother, Cecil; sisters, Bessie (Stead), Bertha (Norman), Evelyn (Stead), Lucy (Dalton) and Bertha (Sharpe).
Born in 1922, Jabez lived a full and Wonderfull life. He loved his family, friends, community and Church. He loved the simple things in life, his favourite a great “yarn” with family and friends. Always a smile to greet you, always a chuckle to brighten your day and always a wonderful memory from years ago.
For my family and I, uncle Jabez was a huge part of our lives and will always hold a special place in our hearts that began with my beloved father, John, whom he loved like a son. Like my father, uncle Jabez was an amazing “grandfather” to my children Jennifer (Sweetie) and Sandra (Peachier). He showered them with love, encouragement and praise. He will be dearly missed. Our memories we will cherish forever.
A special thank-you to the management and staff of Shirley’s Haven for their loving care, compassion and support over this past month. Your kindness and thoughtfulness will never be forgotten.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Calvary Memorial United Church Tower Fund.
Visitation will take place at Strathie’s Funeral Home on January 29th, 2022 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 7:00pm to 9:00pm. Masks and vaccination passports are mandatory, information for contact tracing will be taken and social distancing is expected.
The service will be held on Sunday January 30th, 2022 at the Calvary United Church in Little Catalina. Due to Covid restrictions seating is limited to 50 guests. If you wish to attend please contact a member of the family or the church. If possible give your contact information prior to help avoid congestion in the church porch
