Obituary of Mervin Eric Lacharity
Passed away suddenly at Portal Village on January 25, 2022 in his 77th year. Beloved husband for 56 years to Josephine “Josie” (née Zielinski). Loving father of Mike (Judy), Chris McIntyre (John) and Michele Demers. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Jeff (Sarah), Jessica (Zac Ferri), Ryan (Kari), Nicole Hawkins, April Hamm (Jesse Beaulieu), Steve Hamm, Tanner Demers (Lara), Tyson Demers and many great grandchildren. Predeceased by his mother Rhoda, his uncle Neil and by his daughter Evelyn.
Mervin worked at INCO until his retirement in 2001. Following his retirement from INCO he continued to stay busy working often with his son Mike doing home renovation work. Merv & Josie bowled for several years and he coached Frontenac Women’s Baseball. Merv will be greatly missed by his family and the many friends he’s made over a lifetime. He was a devoted husband to Josie and loving father to each of his children.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place with arrangements entrusted to the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 179 Clarence Street, Port Colborne.
There will be a celebration of his life announced in the summer.
If so desired, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
