Obituary For James “Jim” Due Jensen
James Jensen, resident of Fairview Continuing Care, AB, formerly of Bear Canyon, AB, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, January 21, 2022, at Fairview Continuing Care, at the age of 88 years.
Jim was born in Bassano, AB, on April 2, 1933, to Max and Asta Jensen. He grew up on his parent’s farm in Makepeace, AB, where he also attended school. As he grew up, he helped his dad with the farm, as well as his uncles on their farms that were close by.
In 1955 he married Lois Parker and started a family. In 1961, they packed up their belongings and young family to move to a homestead in Bear Canyon. While making their house a home, Jim drove school buses for many years where he lived until 2002, when he and Lois moved to Fairview.
Jim will be sadly missed by his son Dale (Karen) and family in Bear Canyon; daughter Joan (Gary) and family in Hines Creek, AB; son Ron (Lorna) and family in Bear Canyon; son Clayton and family in Grande Prairie, AB; daughter Vicky in Drayton Valley, AB; nine grandchildren; as well as ten great-grandchildren.
Jim was predeceased by his father Max; mother Asta; father and mother in-law Roy and Alla Parker; wife Lois; brother in-law Don Parker; as well as numerous aunts and uncles.
No service at this time.
