Obituary Kenneth McKinley Bateman
Kenneth McKinley Bateman of Okotoks, Alberta, Canada passed away December 20th, 2022, at 90 years of age. He was born in Lethbridge, Alberta on October 8th, 1932, to McKinley Bateman and Pearl Taylor had one sister Bonnie Hill. Ken is survived by his wife Beverley and six children- Arnon Livingstone (Terry), Terri Fletcher (Don), McKinley (Wilhelmina), Scott (Leslie), Taylor (Kate), Kirsti Stevenson (Brad). Ken loved his 22 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren.
As a successful businessman Ken was a great provider for his family. His hard work left a lasting impression in the retail, insurance, new sales and investment communities. Working, singing in church choirs, attending musical events, social dancing, traveling and church service were some things Ken enjoyed. He loved to engage in conversation with both friends and strangers. His great sense of humor could bring a refreshing laugh to any situation. As an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Ken served in congregations in both Alberta and Ontario. His church service included time as a teacher of both youth and adults, in administrative responsibilities as a counselor in various bishoprics, a bishop and high councilor. He and Beverley served as missionaries in the Canada Calgary Mission. Ken Bateman loved life and lived it with vigor. We are blessed by the influence Ken has had on each of our lives.
The Funeral Service for Kenneth McKinley Bateman will be held Saturday, January 7th 2023 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on 300 Woodgate Road in Okotoks, Alberta. Visitation will be at the church from 11:30 am to 12:30pm with the funeral service at 1:00pm.
