She met John when he worked for Nellie and Stanley where they fell in love and later were married on August 22, 1938. They started farming while John kept a mail route with help from Dorothy, who also helped him with the chores around the farm.
Dorothy was an avid curler, as skip most times, she played ball, and loved to dance around the kitchen when the girls were young and stayed with them, most summers, on the farm. We wish we would have got some of her recipes before she passed as she was an excellent cook. She chopped wood for exercise and grew big gardens. She also worked with Elections Canada on many elections in USONA district and was very involved in the community. Dorothy always enjoyed playing many card games, especially smear amongst friends and neighbors.
The family would like to extend a big thank-you to the nursing staff at Bethany Home in Sylvan Lake for their care over the years.
A private family service will be held from Baker Funeral Chapel, Wetaskiwin.
