February 2, 1948 – December 25, 2022
Dr. James (Jim) Watterson passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, December 25, 2022, after a brief illness. He is survived by family, colleagues, and friends, both old and new.
Jim, we will miss your sense of humor and the insights that you always brought to our conversations. You shared both your broad world interests and your delight in life’s simple pleasures. You listened quietly and you watched out for other people. We thought that you would be with us for many more years and your passing is our loss.
Dr. Ruth Dickson, Jim’s wife and the ‘love of his life’ passed away on March 17, 2020. In Ruth’s and his memory, he asked for a simple city park bench that faced the mountains. Look for the plaque:

  1. We were saddened to hear of Jim’s passing. He was a good neighbour who would always wave or stop what he was doing to chat. Our neighbourhood will miss him. Our sincere condolences to those who loved Jim. With sympathy, Ron and Brenda Pelkey
