Obituary of John & Clara Thomson
At Wingham & District Hospital on Saturday, December 24, Clara Thomson passed away peacefully at the age of 81. Two short days later on Monday, December 26, John passed away at the age of 83. John and Clara have been reunited together and would have celebrated 55 years of marriage on February 10, 2023.
Devoted parents of Michelle Thomson of Blyth and Colleen & Todd Lawless of Sparwood, British Columbia. Loving grandparents of Danielle & Jeff Norgate of Wingham, Alexander Lawless and Chelsea Lawless both of Sparwood, British Columbia and great-grandparents of Paisley Norgate.
John and Clara will be missed by John’s siblings, Bruce & Maureen Thomson of Whitechurch, Bill & Jan Thomson of Dashwood, Trudy Thomson of Wingham, and Sandra Thomson of Bayfield and by Clara’s siblings Bill & Marg Rooney of Fergus and Ralph & Jean Rooney of Arthur. John & Clara will be lovingly remembered by their many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by their parents Dan & Agnes Thomson and Beverly & Ida Rooney, John’s brother Rae Thomson, brother-in-law Brian Rintoul, sister-in-law Pat Thomson.
A private burial will take place at Wingham Cemetery and a Celebration of John & Clara’s lives will be held in the spring.
In lieu flowers, memorial donations to the Wingham & District Hospital Foundation would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
