Kay Louise Wheaton
1952-2022
Kay Louise Wheaton went home to be with her Lord and Saviour
on December 24, 2022, at age 70, with her husband, Garnet, and family
by her side.
Kay was born to Judson S. and Nancy Wagner on August 18,
1952, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. She grew up in Lancaster County and
went on to receive her BSc. in Music Education. During that time, she
met her husband, Garnet, then married and settled in Berwick, Nova
Scotia in 1975.
She is survived by her husband, Garnet Wheaton, and sons,
Seth Wheaton (Richmond, Va.); Jesse Wheaton and his wife, Beth Anne
(Mount Joy, Pa.), and daughters, Margaret Hiltz and her husband,
Matthew (Manheim, Pa.); Cynthia Ramsey and her husband, David (Ottawa,
On.); 13 grandchildren; her mother, Nancy Wagner; brothers, Dennis
Wagner and his wife, Peggy; Bryan Wagner and his wife, Sandy, and
sister, Brenda Rambo, all of Pennsylvania and Delaware.
Loving wife, mother and grandmother, Kay enjoyed making
life’s celebrations special for those around her by
entertaining, celebrating, and supporting others. Anyone who met Kay
will always remember her warm and friendly smile. Kay’s
unwavering faith in her Heavenly Father is the foundation upon which
she built her life. Kay is leaving an eternal legacy of faith through
her commitment to the Gospel, evident in her leading role in
establishing ShareWord Global’s ministry which seeks to
reach every family with the Gospel in Nicaragua and
Cuba.
Kay was also the creative force behind Wheaton’s
(Gift, Home Décor and Furniture stores). It was her
appreciation of beautiful things, and her ability to select and
merchandise that made the business successful and the stores an
enjoyable experience for all.
Please join Kay’s family in celebrating her life at
11am on Friday, December 30, 2022 at New Minas Baptist Church, 9453
Commercial Street, New Minas, NS. Reception will follow at the
church.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the
wonderful team at Palliative Care and VON for their outstanding and
compassionate care in recent months as she courageously faced
cancer.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have
kept the faith.”
– II Timothy 4:7
