Obituary of Judith Mary Anderson
ANDERSON, Judith Mary (nee Robertson)
Passed away at Hamilton General Hospital on Tuesday, January 25th, 2022 at the age of 83 years.
Beloved wife of the late Michael and loving mother of Sally (Stan Miller), Deborah (Robert Hunt), Michael and Lesley (Chris Thompson). Loving “Dani” (Granny) of Rachael (Arthur), Graham (and their dad, Greg Newbigging), Emma (Sam), Jack, Ewan and Leah. Mum was born in Glasgow, Scotland on July 4th, 1938. It was always said that our neighbour’s fireworks (south of the border) were all for her. Mum was a determined, brave and loving person emigrating to Canada in 1966 with Dad and her young children. She was a hard worker at any job she did. She loved her secretarial job with McMaster University’s Music Department as she enjoyed the many concerts and meetings with wonderful musicians and students. She always made sure there was an extra seat at the dining room table in case a student needed the comfort of a home-cooked meal. Mum always thought of others before herself. She made sure she was there to volunteer for school trips with her children or volunteer within her church. She kept active! She played a great game of golf and loved her time on the tennis courts while holidaying in Southampton. She was a whiz at crosswords and a beautiful knitter. She always wanted to know what her family and friends near and far, were up to. Her door was always open for a chat and a good cup of tea. And how she loved ice cream!
We will celebrate Mum’s life in early spring when the yellow daffodils and tulips are in full bloom. Thank you for the care given to Mum at Hamilton General and Yorkville Retirement Home in Dundas. Donations can be made to The Alzheimer’s Society of Ontario, Cancer Society, MS Society of Canada or St. George United Church.
