Obituary
Chenette (born McLaren) , Fara, Ann (15 November 1955 – 22 December 2022)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Fara Chenette on 22 December 2022 at the age of 67 after a long and inspirational battle with lung cancer. She beat the cancer twice but the third time was too much and she left us to go and join dad. She was surrounded by her loving sons at the North Bay Regional Health Center.
She is survived by her three loving and fiercely loyal sons, Derek (Marilynn), Jeff (Mellisa) and Brad (Katelyn) and will be greatly missed by her siblings Doug (Gerri) and Malcolm (Mona).
Nanna was a special person and cannot be replaced. Her 6 grandchildren, Tyler, Briana, Emily, Jaida, Kylah and Evelyn will miss her dearly. She adored those kids and afternoons in the pool at Nanna’s will never be the same.
Fara will be remembered as the rock that loved her husband and the greatest mom that three boys could ever hope for. They say that behind every good man is a great woman. And behind Dale, Derek, Jeff and Brad stood a tiny woman, with a massive heart, a tireless work ethic and an ironclad will. She was the source of all our strength .
Fara could take a house and turn it into a home. Take a yard and turn it into an oasis. Take an address and turn it into a destination. She was the ultimate homemaker. Not a person stepped onto her property without feeling her presence and she will forever be loved and missed.
The family would like to thank the doctors at the Cancer Center in Sudbury, ON for giving us as much time as possible with mom and to her family doctor here in North Bay (Dr Wendy Graham) for a level of personal care that just doesn’t happen anymore.
In memory of Fara, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. There will be a viewing on Saturday January 7th from 10 am until 1 pm, followed by a celebration of her life at 1 pm.
