Shirley Heschl passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 24, 2022 at the age of 89.
Shirley leaves behind her four children Mark (Tracey), Sharon, Rob, and Tanya (Greg); her grandchildren and her great granddaughter; as well as many dear friends and extended family. Shirley joins her Mum, Dada, sister Patricia, and brothers Dennis and Brian, who all predeceased her into God’s eternal love.
Shirley was born in Chhindwara, India on December 26, 1932 and immigrated to Canada in 1956. She lived primarily in Alberta for the remainder of her life. She made many lifelong friends here in Calgary, too many to mention here for fear of missing anyone.
She was very active in the church and had a strong faith in God participating in prayer groups, retreats and pilgrimages.
The family would like to thank all who would like to send their condolences but request that in lieu of flowers, a donation to your favourite charity be made in her memory.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 28, 2022 at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church at 1:00 pm with livestreaming* available through the link below.

Death notice for the town of: Calgary, Province: Alberta
So sorry to hear the passing of Shirley and my sincere condolences on behalf of our family. My mother Shirley Doucette was a very close friend and held her dear to her heart. My Mom will be embracing her with open arms in the kingdom of God. God bless you all.
Thank you for your kind words Paul. Mum has many friends who have passed before her, so I know she won’t be alone and will have lots of love holding her in their light as she crosses into Heaven. I know she will be very happy to see your mum and many others she has missed in this world.
Yes, sad news and I am sorry to have missed the funeral. In the 80s and 90s as my friends and I were struggling to find our way in faith and life we were very much helped by Shirley’s and her friends’ prophetic prayer ministry. The last years I know have been very difficult for her and I am sure for you, her family. Many blessings to you all. And for Shirley, “may the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace.” Mike Heimbecker
My condolences on Shirley’s passing. She was always devout in her faith and in her friendships. A great blessing. She is remembered fondly.
