1948-2022
It is with deep sorrow that Barbara Iris passed at the age of 74. Barb was blessed with intelligence, a strong will, generosity, and faith in God. Her family and community benefited from her talents. Iris grew up with four siblings and went to school in Andrew Alberta. Initially she lived in Edmonton, during that time she worked for Revenue Canada and the Kidney Foundation. After a short time living in Pangnirtung Nunavut she moved to Wetaskiwin where she resided until her death. While living in Wetaskiwin she worked at Horizons Center, where she supported adult clients with disabilities until her retirement which became her passion.
Barbara Iris will be fondly remembered by her daughter Shelley (Murray) and grandchildren Owen and Abby. By her sisters Nettie (Richard) and brother Michael (Gail), extended family, friends and the clients at horizon center. Barbara was predeceased by her sisters Mary (Alex) and Pauline (Dave).
A Funeral Service will be held at the Holy Trinity Orthodox Church at Sunland on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. Kolin Berglund officiating. Interment to follow in the church cemetery.
