Riverview, NB – Robert Labounty, 84, passed away peacefully at his residence on Monday, December 12, 2022.
Robert was a case manager for the Massachusetts Association for the Adult Blind in the Boston area. He pastored churches in Sutton and Mansonville QC for several years and then several in Lyndon Centre Vermont, USA and in Riverview NB and ended his career working for CNIB in Saint John, NB. He was a graduate of Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Hamilton, Mass. Robert had a great love of the outdoor and took part in many activities for fun exercise and adventure: swimming, skating, snow skiing, water skiing, fishing, sailing, peddling hard on our tandem bicycle, hiking, running, and mountain climbing. He loved music, playing harmonica, listening to CDs, everything from folk songs to grand opera and especially Ivan and Vivian Hicks and their fiddling friends. Singing hymns and praising the lord for his goodness and the blessing of salvation was his great delight.
Born in Fall River, Mass, USA, he was the son of the late Frank Labounty and the late Imelda Nadeau.
Robert will be sadly missed by his wife: Lenore Labounty (Gustafson); his sons: Richard of Virginia, USA and Daniel (Virginia) of Israel; his grandchildren: Noam, Natan and Nava; his brothers: Frank (Eva) of Florida, USA and Kenneth (Connie) of Mass, USA; also by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Passage Funeral Chapel, 625 Mountain Road, Moncton, NB E1C 2P1 (506) 855.1145, on Saturday, December 17, 2022 from 1pm until time of funeral service at 2pm at the chapel.
In his memory, a donation can be made to The Seeing Eye Inc., 1 Seeing Eye Wy, Morristown, NJ 07960, United States, from where he trained with 6 of his dogs.
